It involves stories of adventure, mystery and travel especially written for children and each chapter has an original, color map that was hand-painted to illustrate the particular country in the chapter.
The author, Dr. Carol Walker Jordan, hopes to encourage a bond between a reader and a child and encourage curiosity and fascination with travel around our wonderful planet. The stories may be of interest to children ages five to eight.
Dr. Carol Walker Jordan, pictured here in Seattle's famous Pike Street Market, is the Dorothy Colmer Bailey Librarian, Everett Library, Queens University of Charlotte, Charlotte, North Carolina, holds a Ph.D. in Higher Education Leadership and Policies, a Master’s degree in Library and Information Science, and a Master’s degree in Counseling. Dr. Jordan’s career spans many years of counseling, training, library administration, and professional services on local, regional and national boards.
Dr. Jordan credits her love of creative writing to her childhood experiences in a public library in Kings Mountain, North Carolina, where she spent happy days reading and imagining the world outside the small historical town in which her family lived. She clings to many fond memories as a child of her father having read to her on a regular basis prior to her being able to read for herself. Her love of stories about adventure and far away places led her to produce this wonderful book intended for a parent, uncle, aunt, grandparent, teacher, volunteer or older sibling to read to children.
